John Wesley's Rule

The quote from John Wesley that we talked about during the RAGBRAI ride was:

"Do all the good you can, By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can, In all the places you can,
At all the times you can, To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can."

Janne checks in with Katy and Brendan in Pocahontas, Iowa
Katy Fletcher camping out early in Pocahontas.

The tiny town of Pocahontas was the "meeting town" for riders and their support teams on the second day. Getting into the village for Janne and me was a nightmare, but we did have some great pizza in a local cafe when the main body of riders blew through.

MORE DEBUQUE PICTURES FROM THE RAGBRAI

DUBUQUE IOWA DURING THE RAGBRAI RIDE AUGUST 2010

It took us over two hours in bumper to bumper traffic to get to our meeting place with our RAGBRAI riders. Then, it was another hour until they found us (thank god for cellphones and our dachshund flag). Janne was heroic driving the r.v. in traffic that even made us from Los Angeles cringe. We were parked in warehouse section that would have been pretty scary if there hadn't been thousands of vans and bicyclists trying to find each other. Bored, I walked for a block along the docks and took these photographs of the only part of Dubuque, Iowa that I've yet to see.
